The aluminium base is 58.5 mm across with a rippled face that leaves concentric rings in the puck, the barrel is knurled for grip, and the handle is natural wood. Level the dose in the basket first, then set the tamper on it and press until you hear the double click — that is the full force reached, and you lift. A 0 / 5 / 10 / 15 scale on the barrel sets the tamping depth. The maker states the fit once: a 58 mm portafilter, with a 58.5 mm base.
