An electric grinder with a removable burr, not a blade. Fill the clear bean hopper, set the cup dial anywhere from 2 to 12, and the grinder stops by itself when that dose is reached. It draws 150 W at 220-240 V and weighs 1.6 kg.

A second dial on the side sets the grind on a continuous scale between FINE, MEDIUM and COARSE: coarse for percolators, medium for drip and moka, fine for espresso machines. Grounds fall into a clear lidded container that slides out of the front. The burr is never washed — turn the dial to FINE, twist it out and brush it dry. Do not run the motor for more than 60 seconds at a time, and leave it five minutes after grinding twelve cups.
