Cafetto Espresso Clean tablets backflush a portafilter espresso machine. One tablet in a blind filter lifts coffee oils, grounds and staining out of the group and the solenoid, and leaves no odour behind after rinsing. The jar holds 150 tablets, each 20 mm across, 5 mm thick and 2.5 g.
Daily routine: swap the coffee basket for a blind filter, drop in one tablet, run the pump for 10 seconds and rest it for 10 seconds five times over, rinse the handle, then cycle ten more times on clean water before pulling and discarding one shot. For soaking, one tablet in 500 mL of hot water holds group handles and baskets for ten minutes. The formulation is sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate with under 1% sodium lauryl sulfate, pH 10.8 at 1% w/w, certified to NSF Protocol P152.
